In the near future, Uzbekistan will announce tenders for the construction of several solar and wind power plants, the Podrobno.uz correspondent reports, citing data from the Ministry of Energy.
“In the near future, a tender will be announced for the construction of solar photovoltaic stations with a total capacity of 400 MW in the Kashkadarya and Fergana regions. The tender will be held with the consulting support of the Asian Development Bank as part of the ADB SOLAR-2 project,” First Deputy Energy Minister Azim Akhmedkhadzhayev said at meeting with heads of diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan in foreign countries.
To date, Akhmedkhadzhaev added, ADB technical consultants are conducting exploration work on suitable sites and preparing project documents for announcing a tender.
