In the south of Tajikistan, at the Harb-Maidon training ground, near the Tajik-Afghan border, a trilateral joint military exercises of Tajikistan, Russia and Uzbekistan started.
According to the head of the press center of the Ministry of Defense of Tajikistan Faridun Mahmadalizoda, military units of the three countries are taking part in the exercises.
According to F. Makhmadaliev, more than 2 thousand servicemen of the Armed Forces of the three countries are taking part in large-scale exercises.
Also involved are 25 units of aviation equipment (military and transport helicopters, fighters), about 300 units of armored vehicles, artillery, automobile and other equipment.
“The purpose of the large-scale exercises is a practical study of the readiness to carry out military tasks in case of complications on the state border, increasing the experience of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Tajikistan, Russia and Uzbekistan, coordinating the actions of military units when a threat arises, and more,” said Faridun Mahmadalizoda.
