The Khatlon region prosecutor’s office is investigating a conflict between the head of the Dzhaikhun district police department and the head physician of the central district hospital. The incident happened on New Year’s Eve in one of the local restaurants, writes Radio Ozodi.

Law enforcement sources told the newspaper on January 5 that during the conflict that took place on the evening of December 31, 2021, the head of the district militia department, Colonel Kurbonali Pulod Barfi, put a service pistol to the forehead of the head physician of the central district hospital Khomijon Abdulhamidzadeh, and then fired twice in the air.

On January 3, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan dismissed Kurbonali Pulod Barfi from his post. Isroil Goibzoda has been appointed chief of the Dzhaikhun district militia department, sources said.
