Industry and the IT sector will remain among the drivers of economic growth in Belarus in 2022. Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Dmitry Krutoy said this in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel , BelTA informs.
During the interview, it was noted that although next year it is planned to increase the GDP by 2.9%, nevertheless, various international experts are voicing more modest parameters. “Not a single forecast of international experts for the past 5 years on the Belarusian economy has come true. So I would not pay much attention to this,” Dmitry Krutoy said.
According to him, in 2022, Belarus’s GDP will be influenced by four factors: sanctions pressure and the fight against it; coronavirus and its new strains, the response of the world economy; internal mobilization in the country, saving all types of resources and avoiding unnecessary spending, especially in the budgetary sphere; export, maintaining the pace of foreign trade.
“The drivers of growth are still IT and industry. The industrial complex will develop at a faster pace than the rest of the economy as a whole. Industrial growth will be 3.3-3.5%,” said Dmitry Krutoy.
