An international conference “National Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of New Uzbekistan: Achievements and Prospects” has started at Westminster International University in Tashkent.
This conference is organized by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Agency for Youth Affairs, the United Nations Development Program in Uzbekistan, the World Bank, Westminster International University and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
It is envisaged that the keynote speakers will include prominent academics, representatives of the public and private sectors, international agencies, departments and think tanks, including the President of the International Sustainable Development Solutions Association (SDSN), Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Dr. Sodik Safoev, UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan Matilda Dimovska, Head of the World Bank Office in Uzbekistan Marco Mantovanelli, Director of the Agency for Youth Affairs Alisher Sadullaev, Professor of the University of Adelaide Richard Pomfret, (Australia), Professor of Duke University Charles Becker ( USA).
The conference is held to discuss the ongoing socio-economic transformations in Uzbekistan, the importance of reforms in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, the exchange of knowledge and experience, the results of scientific research and development strategies, as well as the definition of “road maps” for interaction.
