Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport accepted the first flight of Jazeera Airways (Kuwait) on the Kuwait-Tashkent route, UZ DAILY reported.
By tradition, the plane was greeted with a “water arch”.
The solemn ceremony of welcoming passengers and representatives of Jazeera Airways took place in the arrivals hall to the sound of karnay-surnai.
“We are pleased to launch a direct flight from Kuwait International Airport to the capital of Uzbekistan. This country with a rich history is one of the popular destinations not only for Kuwaitis, but also for citizens of other countries in the region. I am sure that the establishment of regular flights will help strengthen ties between the peoples of the two countries, increase the flow of tourists to Uzbekistan, develop trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two states,” said Director General of the airline Rohit Ramachandran.
Jazeera Airways flights in the direction Kuwait-Tashkent-Kuwait will be operated twice a week – on Mondays and Thursdays.
