Kazakhstan has already started supplying food and essential goods to Afghanistan. This was stated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, Kazinform correspondent reports.
“Modern realities require the improvement of the mechanisms of CIS cooperation in the field of security. The main contours of our interaction in this area are outlined in the Concept of Military Cooperation, as well as in the Program to Strengthen Border Security at External Borders until 2025. At the same time, in the work carried out, special emphasis should be placed on issues of joint confrontation with the increased challenges of terrorism, religious extremism, and drug trafficking. These threats have become of paramount importance in light of the current situation in Afghanistan,” said the Head of State during a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
According to the President, Kazakhstan shares the position of the UN. The dire humanitarian situation in this country should be in the focus of attention of the entire international community.
