The Ministry of Health will investigate the purchase of personal protective equipment in Almaty.

An investigation will be carried out on the issue of purchasing personal protective equipment (PPE) at a warehouse in Almaty, Vice Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chief State Sanitary Yerlan Kiyasov told the CCS, Total.kz reported.

“On this occasion, we will conduct a separate investigation. As far as this whole situation around the SIZ is concerned, as you know, we initiated the submission of the transfer of these materials to the courts. In addition, we from the Ministry of Health sent a letter to the territorial departments of the Anti-Corruption Agency, ” Total.kz cited Kiyasov as saying.

Today, according to him, there is a court decision on this issue, which was not made in favor of the territorial department.

“Now we are working to challenge this decision. In the future, after the final decision of the court, appropriate measures will be taken in accordance with this decision, ”the vice minister added.

As previously reported in the media, the head of the department of sanitary and epidemiological control of Almaty Zhandarbek Bekshin at a meeting of the Public Council of Almaty commented on the situation with the purchase of low-quality personal protective equipment, saying that they were purchased last year.

He noted that in September he transferred information after the discovery of these low-quality PPE to the anti-corruption department, and after anti-corruption he transferred it to the ERC.

In turn, his deputy  Asel Kalykova stated that state purchases for PPE took place within the framework of the current legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and she called the arguments made by Bekshin unfounded and unfounded.
