President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev noted the need to increase the throughput capacity of the Dostyk-Moiynty railway section, KAZINFORM reported.

“To increase the physical capacity, it is necessary to expand specific bottlenecks, bottlenecks. In this regard, it is necessary to increase the capacity and electrify the Dostyk-Moiynty railway section, ”Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said at an expanded meeting of the Government. The head of state also noted that a new Darbaza-Maktaaral line between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will have to be built to develop the Southern Corridor of the Trans-Asian Railway.

“This is the most important integration project. These initiatives have been discussed for several years. The decision must be taken now if we want to remain competitive at the regional level. The government and the Samruk-Kazyna Fund should start implementing these projects, ”summed up Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev.
