Speaking at a meeting of Afghanistan’s neighbors in China, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia was particularly concerned about the activities of international terrorist organizations in Afghanistan, and especially the concentration of Jamaat Ansarullah and Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan militants in the Afghan region. According to him, despite the cessation of hostilities in general and a significant reduction in the number of civilian casualties, the security situation in Afghanistan can not yet be called stable. The activities of international terrorist organizations such as ISIS, Al Qaeda, Jamaat Ansarullah, the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, East Turkestan (IMU, IDFT) and others remain a major factor in tensions. Additional tensions are created as a result of the activities of the Panjsher partisans of the “National Resistance Front”.
