During a special operation, security officials detained 27 supporters of extremist organizations in the Tashkent region, the Podrobno.uz correspondent reports, citing data from the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the capital region.
Operation “Safe Zone” was carried out in the city of Nurafshan, as well as in Akhangaran and Chinaz regions. 27 detainees participated in underground extremist activities.
An investigation is currently underway to give a legal assessment of the actions of the detainees and bring them to justice.
It should be noted that over the past two weeks in Tashkent and the capital region, over 50 supporters of the religious extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir were detained. This organization was founded by Takyuddin Nabihani in Palestine in 1953 with the aim of establishing a single caliphate in Muslim countries, and then throughout the world.
