The Presidents of Belarus and Russia Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin have confirmed plans to hold joint military exercises in Belarus in 2022. This was announced at the official part of the meeting of the heads of state in St. Petersburg, BelTA has learned.
The head of the Belarusian state noted that he had asked his Russian counterpart for a long time that the countries did not stop in cooperation in the defense industry and the military-industrial complex. “You have always supported me in this regard. I’ve turned to you so that we do not stop our joint exercises. So that we continue to create centers for training our guys, first of all, new models of military equipment that we buy in Russia. We are doing this.” – said the President of Belarus.
“I know that you and your military are considering my proposals for exercises on the territory of Belarus. I would like these decisions to be made by you. This will benefit the Belarusian-Russian relations,” Alexander Lukashenko added.
