President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko approved, as a basis for negotiations, a draft protocol between the governments of Belarus and Russia on the extension of the agreement on the procedure for the use of two military facilities by Russia in the republic. Lukashenka signed the corresponding decree on Friday, his press service reported.
“President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko approved the draft protocol on the extension of the agreement on the use and maintenance of the Vileika radio station dated January 6, 1995, as a basis for negotiations,” the press service said.
According to her, by the same decree Lukashenko approved as a basis for negotiations a draft intergovernmental protocol on the extension of the agreement of January 6, 1995 on the procedure for completing the construction, use and maintenance of the Baranovichi node – a missile attack warning system.
By his decree, Lukashenko authorized the Ministry of Defense of Belarus to conduct negotiations on draft protocols and sign documents upon reaching agreements within the approved projects.
