Belarus and Russia are starting to reset the joint economic space. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said this today at a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, BelTA has learned.
“Life does not stand still. We all, to one degree or another, realize the need to further move forward along the path of union building. This ensures the protection of the interests of Belarus and Russia in the global space,” the President noted.
Based on this, the leaders of Belarus and Russia in 2019 set the governments the task of assessing the results of union integration and identifying steps to deepen it. The result of this work was the draft of the Basic Directions for the implementation of the provisions of the Treaty on the Establishment of the Union State for 2021-2023. After their approval by the Supreme State Council, the governments must take measures to implement a number of conceptual decisions within two years, Alexander Lukashenko noted.
