President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree on the redistribution of powers of the head of state.
“The President shares his functions! The redistribution of powers, which has been talked about so much, has begun. Decree number four has just been signed,” a source close to the president’s press service said, Armenpress reported with reference to RIA Novosti.
The document introduces amendments to Decree No. 3 of March 20, 1998 “On the Privatization of State Property in the Republic of Belarus”. Thus, the powers of the head of state to agree on the issue of additional issues of shares created during the privatization of OJSCs processing agricultural products are transferred to the government – if the securities are owned by the state, or to the regional executive committees and the Minsk city executive committee – if they are owned by administrative-territorial units.
Earlier, Lukashenka held a meeting on the redistribution of powers between government bodies. As the president noted, this issue needs to be resolved within a year. According to Lukashenko, it should be closely linked to constitutional reform.
