French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke by phone with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky. They discussed the issue of resolving the situation in Donbass, the head of Ukraine said on Twitter. After that, European politicians talked about this with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to the Kremlin’s website.
Zelensky told that he discussed with the leaders of France and Germany the intensification of negotiations to end the war in Donbass and the preparation of the Normandy Four summit. The parties stressed the importance of the commitments made at the Paris summit in 2019. In addition, they noted the need to discuss in detail the status of the fulfilment of promises at the upcoming summit. Merkel and Macron promised to raise this issue in negotiations with Putin.
