The telephone conversation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Makei with the Deputy Chairman of the European Commission, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell took place on November 16. BelTA learned this from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
The parties discussed the situation on the border of Belarus and the EU.
Vladimir Makei informed his interlocutor about the tightening of the migration regime in Belarus. “He separately focused on the serious efforts of the Belarusian side to provide migrants with humanitarian aid, including in cooperation with public and international organizations, including the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the International Organization for Migration, the International Children’s Fund, the Belarusian Red Cross and Crescent Society and others, “the Foreign Ministry said.
The minister reaffirmed Belarus’ commitment to a joint search for solutions to existing problems, including the earliest possible settlement of the migration crisis.
