The delegation of the National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine headed by the Chairman of the Board of the State Company Yuriy Vitrenko will hold a number of business meetings in the United States tonight to convince US senators of the need to strengthen sanctions against the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline under construction, UNIAN reported.

The US State Department has not imposed sanctions against Nord Stream 2 AG, which is implementing the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project, and its head, Matthias Warnig, whom the Western media calls an ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the waiver of sanctions is in the national interest of the United States.
Nevertheless, the US State Department has announced sanctions against four vessels and four legal entities involved in the construction of Nord Stream-2.
