Kiev is not considering the option of purchasing gas in Russia, said the head of the board of NJSC Naftogaz, Yuri Vitrenko, TURAN reported.
“We do not consider such an option at all; we do not talk about it with anyone. Here we have such a very clear position. In principle, we want Ukraine to start exporting gas, not importing it. We are now producing about 20 billion cubic meters in year, and the whole of Ukraine consumes about 30 billion cubic meters. Yes, we are importing to 10 billion, but if you look only at household consumers, we will see a slightly different situation,” Vitrenko said in an interview with Radio Liberty on Saturday.
He said that Ukraine needs to produce more gas than all consumers use.
