The presence of Royal Navy ships in the Black Sea is intended to influence Russia’s political course and is aimed at intimidating it. This was announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry, news.ru reported.
Everything that is done around the entry of ships into the Black Sea is done with one goal – to increase pressure on our country so that, in their hope, we, apparently, “understand” something and behave as they expect of us, in some ways they showed more compliance, explained RIA Novosti source in the department.
According to news.ru, the interlocutor of the agency recalled the existence of the Montreux Convention, which stipulated the possibility of the presence of ships of non-Black Sea countries in the Black Sea. The document enshrines the limit of the number of such vessels and their displacement. According to the representative of the Foreign Ministry, Moscow expects the states on which it depends to comply with the convention.
