Ombudsman addresses UN High Commissioner over mined areas-REPORT.AZ

The Ombudsman of the Republic of Azerbaijan sent a letter to Michelle Bachelet, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, report.az said.
According to a report from the Ombudsman’s Office, Sabine Aliyeva expressed concern about the serious threat to people’s lives and health by mines buried by the Armenian army during the invasion of Kulgar District and other areas of Azerbaijan. Hundreds of thousands of mines have been buried in those areas, and the country’s refusal to provide maps of Armenia’s mined areas has strained the situation in the region and threatens peace and co-operation.
