Portraits of the new President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will appear in all state institutions of the country. Institutions and organizations have already been instructed to replace the images of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who ruled the country for 15 years, with portraits of his son. Serdar Berdymukhammedov, who, according to authorities, received 72.97 percent of the vote in the elections, officially replaced his father as head of state on March 19.
In the Lebap velayat, portraits of the new president of Turkmenistan have already appeared in law enforcement agencies. The order to replace the portraits and place images of Serdar Berdimuhamedov has already been received by educational and healthcare institutions. This was reported on March 23 by correspondents and sources of Azatlyk in the region.
According to them, law enforcement officers, in particular police officers, purchase portraits at their own expense. Images of the new head of state have already appeared in the offices of district police institutions.
