President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov met with President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Muhammad bin Suleiman Al-Jassir in Glasgow, UK on Nov 1, the press service of the President said.
The parties discussed cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the IsDB in the post-pandemic recovery period and in the context of climate change.
Melting of glaciers, depletion of water resources, drought, reduced agricultural productivity, increased risk of natural disasters, transport emissions, etc. are the main problems of recent years, said Japarov.
Kyrgyzstan supports the Paris Agreement by adopting a nationally determined contribution up to 2030. He expressed readiness to support expansion of cooperation with the IsDB in the field of agriculture and forestry, water resources and small-scale energy, projects on modernization of energy infrastructure in order to reduce emissions.
