According to “Ezgulik”, Khairnurov was detained on December 27 in the office of the territorial precinct at his place of permanent residence. At the same time, the man came there on his own at the summons of a representative of the authorities.
As it turned out later, on December 17, the investigating authorities opened a criminal case against him under Article 139 (defamation) of the Criminal Code for reposting (disseminating) false information on the Internet.
“Operatives of the Samarkand city department of internal affairs detained the activist in accordance with the ruling of the judge of the city criminal court Ilkhom Ergashev, which was adopted on December 24 at 22.40 local time in absentia, without the participation of the accused,” the Human Rights Society noted.
