The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation has declared the founder of “Mediazona” Pyotr Verzilov on the wanted list on suspicion of a criminal offense. This follows from the department’s search base.

“Pyotr Yuryevich Verzilov, born on 10/25/1987, is wanted under the article of the Criminal Code,” the Interior Ministry’s search database says, the department does not give details.

At the same time, according to Verzilov’s lawyer Leonid Solovyov, the reason for declaring the founder of “Mediazona” Verzilov on the wanted list was his criminal case on concealing dual citizenship. “The case in which Verzilov has been put on the wanted list has been going on for more than a year. This is the case that he allegedly did not provide information about his Canadian citizenship. he may be assigned a fine or compulsory work. But, nevertheless, it is possible to put a person on the wanted list in this case, “Solovyov said.

Petr Verzilov is the creator of the online media outlet Mediazona. He was a member of the groups Voina and Pussy Riot. During the World Cup final on July 15, 2018 in Moscow, Verzilov and three Pussy Riot activists ran out onto the field in the uniform of police officers, for which they were brought to administrative responsibility.
