Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended food counter-sanctions against countries that have imposed restrictive measures against Russia until December 31, 2022. The corresponding decree was signed by the leader of the state. It is published on the official portal of legal information.
It is reported that the actions of certain special economic measures are being extended in order to ensure the security of the Russian Federation. In this regard, the Russian government was instructed to ensure the implementation of measures to implement this document and, if necessary, to propose changes.
“Ensure, in accordance with its competence, the implementation of measures necessary for the implementation of this Decree. If necessary, make proposals to amend the period of validity of certain special economic measures provided for in clause 1 of this Decree”, –it says in the document.
Counter-sanctions have been extended by the Russian side since 2015. Prohibited for import are agricultural products, raw materials and food, the country of origin of which is the United States, the countries of the European Union, Canada, Australia, Norway. Later this list included Albania, Montenegro, Iceland and Ukraine.
