The Presidents of Tajikistan and Russia in a telephone conversation discussed the development of the situation in Afghanistan and the situation on the Tajik-Afghan border.
Emomali Rahmon and Vladimir Putin today, April 8, during a telephone conversation exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Russia, the press service of the head of the Republic of Tatarstan reports.
“The Presidents noted with satisfaction the high level of bilateral relations based on the good traditions of friendship and mutual respect.”
“The interlocutors highly appreciated the progressive development of relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as the current level of Tajik-Russian cooperation in the field of security,” the website says.
It is reported that during the conversation, the leaders of the two states discussed the development of the situation in Afghanistan and the situation on the Tajik-Afghan border, exchanged views on other topical issues on the international and regional agenda.
