Officers of the Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-investigative and investigative measures, said they had arrested a person with illegal purchase and storage of a large amount of drugs, illegal purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition, Region.ge reported.

The offense carries a maximum sentence of 8 to 20 years or life imprisonment.

According to Region.ge, during the search of the defendant’s personal vehicle and apartment, the law enforcers seized 535 pills containing buprenorphine, 4 syringes containing buprenorphine and methadone, 4 syringes for injection, COMBAT-Z PPI – M models, seven pistols, a grenade launcher and seven grenade launchers and 82 cartridges. Also, a large amount of money was confiscated.
