Relatives of some Armenian soldiers who were killed in the 44-day war in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone in 2020 autumn, are involved in an ad hoc parliamentary commission that has been set up to investigate the circumstances of the war, Andranik Kocharyan, the head of the parliamentary committee on defense and security issues from the ruling Civil Contract faction said today.
“For the first time, delegated relatives of the fallen servicemen will take part in the work of our commission,” he said.
Kocharyan said also that a former commander of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Defense Army Samvel Babayan will be involved as an independent consultant. According to Kocharyan, Babayan’s participation would be very important.
Kocharyan said that Movses Hakobyan, who previously served as Minister of Defense of Artsakh, Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, will also appear before the commission, otherwise he will have to publicly answer the questions that should have been asked him in the commission.
