Remittances to Uzbekistan rose by 35 percent year-on-year to $4.9 billion in January-August of 2021, the Central Bank said.

Remittances serve as one of the foundations for maintaining consumer activity, the bank said.

In 2020, remittances to Uzbekistan amounted to $6.989 billion, down from $8.546 billion in 2019.
