Sadyr Japarov announced the agreement on 664 km of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
According to the head of state, the total length of the border with Tajikistan is 972 km, which means that there are 308 uncoordinated kilometers left.
Zhaparov indicated that the approval process is moving slowly.
“This is due to the fact that there are many disputed areas. The most important thing is that peace is needed, then we can resolve everything in the interests of both sides, ”Japarov’s publication says.
On the evening of April 12, the Kyrgyz Border Service reported the use of weapons on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border by Tajik military personnel in the Selkan area.
A firefight began – it was stopped after negotiations, but a serviceman from Tajikistan was wounded. Later, the Tajik media reported that he had died.
By 21:00, the situation at the border was regarded as “stable”, but soon the shooting began again.
This skirmish lasted about half an hour – a Kyrgyz border guard was wounded.
