The press secretary of the head of state, Beri Uali, gave clarifications regarding the statement of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the transformation of the Samruk-Kazyna fund. According to him, it is necessary to intensify the privatization of Samruk-Kazyna’s assets in order to reduce the excessive presence of the state in the economy.
“As you know, on January 11, at the plenary meeting of the Mazhilis, the head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, announced the need for a deep transformation of the activities of the Samruk-Kazyna fund. The fund’s portfolio companies are backbone for the national economy. Therefore, now it is on the fund that the solution of tasks for the structural restructuring of the economy and the direction of resources for the benefit of the people depends. The President believes that the government should first of all reduce the cumbersome management superstructure,” Uali wrote on Facebook.
