At an extraordinary congress of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan on February 14, the son of the President of Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdimuhamedov, was nominated as a candidate for the presidential election. This was reported on the evening of February 14 by the state news agency TDH.
The agency notes that the reason for the nomination was “his merits, experience in a leadership position, high business and moral qualities.” It is emphasized that “the speakers noted the excellent leadership and organizational qualities of the candidate for the post of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. As a modest and sympathetic person, a good family man and a supporter of a healthy lifestyle, he earned the respect of his colleagues.”
Serdar himself at the party congress said: “I firmly believe in our people, in their high and unshakable spirit, that by joining forces we will work to further transform our Motherland, strengthening the faith of President Arkadag in a bright and happy future.”
