Share of NPLs in Uzbekistan’s banking sector rises $1.3 bln as of June 1-Central Bank
The share of nonperforming loans (NPL) in Uzbekistan’s banking system rose by 4.7 percent year-on-year and exceeded 14 trillion soums ($1,3 billion) as of June 1, the Central Bank said.
At the beginning of the year, the share of NPLs in total credit portfolio was 2.1 percent.
The country’s two largest banks, National Bank and Uzpromstroybank, as well as Asakabank and Khalq Banki have the highest level of NPLs, the Central Bank said.
