Representatives of the competent authorities of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan are clarifying the circumstances of the incident at the border, TOTAL.KZ reported, citing AKI Press reports with a link to the border service of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan.

On July 8, four border guards of Kyrgyzstan crossed the state border of the Republic of Tajikistan at the Rosrovut section of the Devashtich district of the Sughd region.

“Those who crossed were dressed in military and civilian uniforms, had Kalashnikov assault rifles with them, intended to steal nine horses belonging to residents of the Devashtich district and take them to the territory of Kyrgyzstan. At the warning of Tajik border guards about their violation of the state border, Kyrgyz servicemen opened fire from automatic weapons. Two violators were wounded by return fire from Tajik border guards, ”the Tajik border service said in a statement.
