The number of registered crimes in Belarus has decreased by 8% over the year, Prosecutor General Andrey Shved said at a meeting of the board of the supervisory agency, BelTA informs with reference to the department of interaction with the media and editorial activities of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
In 2021, positive trends in stabilizing the crime situation in the country were consolidated. The Attorney General, among other things, noted a reduction in the number of the most dangerous violent crimes against a person. There are also fewer people who died from crime.
The number of murders decreased by 4.8%, intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm – by 4.9%, rape – by 4.2%, theft – by 7.2%, theft of property by modifying computer information – by 39.4%.
7% fewer crimes were registered among people with a criminal record.
At the same time, the number of robberies increased by 3.7%, robberies by 2.8%, fraud by 10.6%, and crimes related to domestic violence by 17.7%.
