SOCAR Trading, a group of Azerbaijani National Petroleum Corporation (SOCAR), will participate in the export of petroleum products to Ukraine by Russia’s Rosneft state-owned oil company, report.az said.
“Report” Encorr reports that a relevant agreement has been signed. Fuel sales and ties to the Ukrainian side will be regulated by SOCAR Trading’s Swiss-based office. Although there is no exception that the company’s Ukrainian office will also participate in the distribution and sale of volumes.
This week, executives of SOCAR Trading began talks with representatives of proton Energy Group S.A., which was involved in the distribution of Rosneft’s fuel volumes in Ukraine until April of this year. Although sources say the new operator, which has no exception that it will start supplying this month, has a quota of more than 100,000 tons of diesel fuel and 12,000 tonnes of liquid gas, market participants think it is more reasonable to start supplying in June.
Although existing data has revealed that SOCAR will supply a tonne of diesel fuel at a price of more than $30, no specific figures on liquid gas have been sounded, which is linked to a lack of interest in emergency supplies due to the large number of offers on the market.
