According to the Ministry of Economy, the republic has the resources and opportunities to provide importers of food and medicines with foreign currency.

In the context of the military conflict in Ukraine and economic sanctions from Western countries against the main trading partner of Tajikistan – Russia, the government of the republic created an Interdepartmental Headquarters to prevent possible risks to the national economy. This was reported to “Asia-Plus” in the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

We note right away that we received a written response to our request about what measures the government intends to take in the current situation.

So, according to the ministry, from February 26 to March 4, 2022, a special interdepartmental headquarters held more than five meetings with the participation of heads of ministries and departments, domestic producers, an association of producers and importers of grain and oil products, importers of essential goods, the private sector, development partners and taking into account their views and recommendations, an Action Plan was developed.
