The Tashkent metro plans to purchase another 56 modern metro cars from Russia next year, a Podrobno.uz correspondent reports.
It should be reminded that 20 modern Russian metro cars arrived in the country on the eve of Independence Day. Of these, 5 trains will be formed. By the end of the year, another 20 such cars will be sent to Tashkent.
“The first batch of 20 cars at the request of the government of Uzbekistan was delivered to the Independence Day. The delivery of the second batch of 20 cars will be carried out in October-November. We talked with the head of the metro. The need for next year, approved by the President of Uzbekistan, is 56 new cars. We are we are ready to fulfil this order in a consortium with Russian banks,” said Alexander Chebakov, deputy general director of the Russian Transmashholding, during the carriage acceptance ceremony in Tashkent.
