In Tatarstan, from November 22, a QR code system is being introduced, which will operate in city, suburban, inter-municipal public transport. The republic has prepared an appeal to the Russian Railways and the Federal Air Transport Agency with a proposal to introduce QR codes for interregional transportation, reports TASS.
“An appeal has been prepared to the Russian Railways and the Federal Air Transport Agency on the possibility of introducing QR codes for interregional transportation,” – reported in the press service of the President of the Republic.
The authorities of Tatarstan have decided to suspend the validity of transport cards for residents over 60 years old from November 22 who do not have a QR code or a medical exemption from vaccination. Citizens over 18 years of age will need QR codes or relevant certificates to travel on public transport.
