The nominal accrued average wages of workers in Belarus in December last year amounted to Br1,675.3, BelTA learned from the National Statistical Committee.
In November, the average salary of employees was Br1476.3, in October – Br1478.9.
It should be taken into account that the data are given before the deduction of income tax (13%) and mandatory insurance contributions to the Social Security Fund (1% of employees’ salaries).
In terms of regions, the capital is leading: the average salary of Minsk residents in December was Br2404.1 (the growth rate of real wages by December 2020 is 100.5%). In the Minsk region it amounted to Br1711.9 (108.3%), Gomel – Br1475.8 (106.1%), Brest – Br1459.5 (102.9%), Grodno – Br1423.1 (101.4%) , Vitebsk – Br1354 (101.5%) and Mogilev – Br1286.8 (99.5%).
In the country as a whole, real wages (calculated taking into account the growth in consumer prices for goods and services) in January-December increased by 4.4% compared to 2020.
The most paid employees were in information technology and information services activities (Br6435.5), ancillary activities in the field of financial services and insurance (Br5890.9), production of chemical products (Br3526), financial services, except insurance and additional pensions (Br3197.2), mining (Br3179.3), passenger (Br3066) and cargo air transport (Br2444.2), engineering design and provision of technical advice in this area (Br2998.2), scientific research and developments in the field of technical sciences (Br2920.1), production of coke and refined petroleum products (Br2721.4), geodetic and cartographic activities (Br2863.1).
