The Cabinet of Ministers has established that Naftogaz Ukrainy can sell gas to the public only to suppliers that are part of the balancing group.

The relevant  resolution №1237 was adopted by the government today, November 29.

Naftogaz Ukrainy National Joint-Stock Company, Naftogaz Trading Gas Supply Company LLC, to sell natural gas for the needs of household consumers in the period up to and including April 30, subject to the buyer’s participation in a balancing group established by order of the Cabinet of Ministers. 1187 of September 29, 2021 and the Code of the gas transmission system, “the resolution reads.

Gas price:

In October 2021, almost the entire segment of gas supplies to the population – more than 50 gas supply companies – began operating as part of the balancing group of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

As part of the balancing group, all gas suppliers to the population will receive gas at the same price – UAH 7.42 per cubic meter. After the expiration of the new contracts, suppliers must switch to exchange trading.

On November 12, 2021, the Cabinet of Ministers announced gas and electricity prices for the heating season.

The electricity tariff was reduced for 80% of households to UAH 1.44 per kWh, for the rest it remains at UAH 1.68 per kWh. According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal, gas tariffs will remain unchanged until the end of the heating season.
