Former director of the Jalal-Abad regional TV channel Kuttumidin Bazarkulov was detained on November 27 by people who introduced themselves as officers of the State Committee for National Security. “Kloop” was informed about this by his wife Zhamilya Sydykova. At the same time, the State Committee itself did not disclose the details of the case.

After the arrest of Bazarkulov, the Jalal-Abad City Court placed him in custody until January 28, 2022. According to his lawyer, the day before the Jalal-Abad Regional Court upheld the decision of the first instance. Previously, Bazarkulov was accused of abuse of office.

According to Sydykova, the man was detained in his own house in Bishkek on November 27 by armed men who identified themselves as GKNB officers.

“Before the elections, at 4 am on November 27, masked armed men searched our house in Bishkek. They didn’t find anything, and then they took my husband, ”she said in an interview.
