Former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Igor Romanenko answered the question whether Ukraine can destroy the Crimean bridge in the same way as it destroyed the cruiser Moskva .
As he told The Observer in an interview , the entire bridge may not. But theoretically, at the right time, you can strike when troops are walking on it.
“When the bridge was being built, Russia said that Ukraine did not have any missile systems, that it was all paperwork. And now these” papers “sank the Russian flagship. Of course, there is a question of prestige, but hitting the bridge is another aggravation. This is a question not just a military one, but a military-political one,” the general says.
According to Romanenko, if the bridge is to be destroyed, then only when a column of military equipment is moving along it.
“It is not yet time to hit the bridge, it is not yet the time to hit the Russian arsenal in Transnistria. So far, the Russians have terrible dreams about this. But their time is ahead,” he summed up.
