A document has appeared on social networks that prohibits municipal employees from reacting and distributing negative publications that cast a negative light on the current authorities. The document, signed by Aziz Sadyrbekov, head of the mayor’s office, was published by civil activist Atai Beishenbek.
The document states that a municipal employee in social networks is perceived as a representative of the authorities. His publication of negative information may “cause adverse consequences for the entire state apparatus and the sustainable development of the country.”
“Users from among municipal employees, due to their imprudent actions, can cast a shadow on the positive intention of implementing state policy,” the document says.
“In order to prevent discrediting the policy of the current government and the performance by municipal employees of their functional duties at the proper level,” they are prohibited from publishing, sharing publications that criticize the authorities.
The press service of the mayor’s office has not yet commented on this issue.
