The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs made statements about the situation around the wiretapping by the department of about 100 activists and politicians.

Earlier, the leader of the Reform party, Klara Sooronkulova, said that she and a number of activists and politicians had been illegally tapped by the Ministry of Internal Affairs since the beginning of this year with the permission of the court.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs admitted that they did wiretapping of activists and politicians.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that activists and politicians were tapped only from January 6 to February 10, 2021. This, according to the department, was done as part of the pre-trial proceedings on the riots that occurred in October last year.
