Tomorrow, October 8, the Verkhovna Rada will vote for the candidacy for the post of the Speaker of the Parliament .
According to an UNIAN correspondent, voting on this issue has been postponed to tomorrow, as the time of today’s plenary session has ended.
At today’s meeting, 5 candidates were nominated for the post of the Verkhovna Rada chairman, but two of them – Yaroslav Zheleznyak, who was nominated by the Voice faction, and Geo Leros (non-factional), who was nominated by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko, withdrew their candidacies.
That is why there are 3 candidates left for the position – Ruslan Stefanchuk, nominated by the Servant of the People faction, Yana Zinkevych – nominated by the European Solidarity faction and Oleksiy Honcharenko (the EU faction), nominated by MP Geo Leros.
Candidates at today’s meeting presented a vision of what they will be in this position. People’s deputies also had the opportunity to comment on these candidates. But due to the fact that today, according to the Rules of Procedure, the meeting lasts until 15.00 with the possibility to extend it for only 15 minutes, at 15.15 the chairman of the meeting, Olena Kondratyuk, closed today’s meeting. She noted that the parliament will decide on this issue tomorrow.
Razumkov’s resignation
Today, October 7, 284 people’s deputies supported the decision to resign Razumkov from the post of Verkhovna Rada Speaker.
215 deputies from the Servant of the People faction voted for this decision, 18 from the Dovira group, 19 from the Party for the Future group, 20 from the Batkivshchyna faction, and 6 and 6 non-factional members from the Voice faction. .
