On 28 December, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in an informal meeting of heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States, held at the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg.
The summit was also attended by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, First President of Kazakhstan – Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
The results of interaction in the current year were summed up and priority tasks for the upcoming 2022 were discussed. An exchange of views took place on topical issues of the regional and international agenda.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of continuing close cooperation in overcoming the consequences of the pandemic and ensuring epidemiological safety.
