On behalf of the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, an operational-investigative group was created from among law enforcement officers and representatives of civil society to objectively investigate the latest events in Khorog and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Such news appeared in the latest issue (# 48) of the profile newspaper of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “Konun va chomea” (“Law and Society”) dated December 9, 2021.

The report, in particular, notes that Gulbiddin Ziyobekov (because of his murder, people went to a rally in Khorog, – ed.), a resident of the Roshtkala region, was neutralised on November 25 when he was detained by law enforcement agencies.

“The leaders and members of the organized criminal group used the incident to achieve their criminal goals as an excuse to gather people in front of the executive authorities of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region and the city of Khorog,” the news says.
