The second meeting of the special envoys for the settlement of relations between Armenia and Turkey – Armenian National Assembly Vice Speaker Ruben Rubinyan and Ambassador Serdar Kilych took place today, February 24, in Vienna, the Armenian Foreign Ministry reports.
“The special envoys reaffirmed that the ultimate goal of the talks is a full-fledged settlement of relations between Armenia and Turkey, which they agreed upon at the first meeting held in Moscow,” the ministry’s press service reported.
It is noted that an exchange of thoughts took place in connection with possible joint steps, Rubinyan and Kylych confirmed their agreement to continue the process without preconditions.
The day before, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in an interview with journalists, expressed satisfaction with Armenia’s desire to normalize relations with Turkey. “This region needs peace, stability and prosperity… The President of Azerbaijan also considers this useful,” Erdogan said.
